Pastor Sue is a second career pastor, with 19 years of ordained ministry experience. She has BS degrees in Psychology and Sociology with a special emphasis in Criminology from UW-Madison. She also has a degree in Medical Technology with a minor in Chemistry from UW-Parkside. She worked as a Medical Technologist for many years, until she discerned her call to ordained ministry. She graduated in 1998 from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity degree and was appointed to serve at Aldersgate UMC in northwest Milwaukee. She served there for 5 years. She was then appointed to serve as pastor at St. James UMC in East Troy and did so for seven years, until being appointed to serve here at YUMC in 2010.
Pastor Sue married her high school sweetheart, Tom Leih. They have two children and three grandchildren. Tom and Sue live in Caledonia.
When Pastor Sue isn’t working or spending time with family and friends, she likes to read, watch movies, listen to music, go for walks, cook, bake, scrapbook, do crafts, and drink coffee or chai tea. She also loves to travel and see the great world that God has created.
